Invisalign Treatment in Woodland Hills
Invisalign is a type of clear aligner therapy that uses a series of removable, transparent trays to gradually straighten teeth. Each set of aligners is worn for about 1–2 weeks, applying gentle pressure to move teeth toward their planned positions.
Conditions commonly treated with clear aligners
- Mild to moderate crowding or spacing
- Certain overbites, underbites, and crossbites
- Relapse after previous orthodontic treatment
- Rotated or tipped teeth in selected cases
During your consultation at House Of Smiles, we will evaluate whether clear aligners are appropriate for your bite or if traditional orthodontic options might be better.
Invisalign process
- Assessment: We review your dental and periodontal health, take photos, and obtain digital scans or impressions.
- Treatment planning: Using specialized software, a step-by-step virtual plan is created showing how your teeth can move.
- Aligner fabrication: A series of custom aligners is manufactured based on the plan.
- Active treatment: You wear each aligner set for the majority of the day (usually 20–22 hours), removing them only to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss.
- Progress checks: We see you periodically to ensure movement is on track and to provide the next sets of aligners.
- Retention: At the end of treatment, retainers are used to help keep teeth in their new positions.
Clear aligners make it easier to brush and floss thoroughly because they are removable, and they have fewer dietary restrictions compared with fixed braces. Successful treatment, however, depends on consistent wear and following your dentist’s instructions closely.
